Text Box: It has been confirmed that  Bob Champion,  who won the Grand National in 1981, is the main speaker at the Clubís Sporting Dinner on Friday, 18 February 2005.
Bob is perhaps best known for his remarkable fight against cancer. It was in 1979, two years before his famous victory on Aldaniti, that he was told he had six months to live. Instead of accepting that his career was at an end, he returned to racing after several months of chemotherapy, and was soon returning winners in both England and America.

Text Box: Itís Bangers at 8pm on Bonfire Night in the Royal George to welcome three members from Aschaffenburg Schonbusch. Our guests will be going to the Fireworks display, then President Maureen is hoping that as many members and their partners as possible will go back to the Royal George for a chat and a supper of - bangers! There will be a further chance to chat to Helmut, Werner and Thilo over lunch at Greyfriars, South Street on Saturday and Murrayshall Golf Clubhouse at 1pm on Sunday 7 November prior to their return home.
